Something New for the Graduation Party Circuit

Summer is well on its way, bringing the graduation party season along with it. Looking back to my own high school & college graduation parties, it would have been nice to have something different for my guests that they weren’t seeing at the 2, 3 or 25 other parties they were attending the same day. Now that I work at Carson, its fun to go through our graduation wrapper collection and pick out a few favorites that I might use at a party of my own or recommend to customers who just can’t decide what to order. Our Caps Off wrapper design is a classy & elegant way to congratulate the college graduate for their accomplishment

The modern Grad-ulations design is able to showcase the senior or graduation photo, and available in multiple colors to represent the school or coordinate with the party. Everyone at Carson loves the Come a Long Way wrapper.  We enjoy seeing just how much the graduate has (or hasn’t) changed since childhood.

Our Colorful Grad and Pencil Party are cute & colorful favors for the younger graduates that would be great to hand out to classmates and teachers to celebrate a successful year.

There is a favor for any age in our graduation collection, and your guests will appreciate something new. You can only eat so much cake in a day…

Taste Testing the New Stuff

Hershey has a new link on their website about chocolate with some great information for true chocolate lovers.  Everything from the history of chocolate, the healthy aspects of chocolate and pairing chocolate with wine and food.

Recently, The Hershey Company has been getting more involved into the specialty chocolate market, purchasing a San Francisco fine chocolate company.

This week at Carson, we have been taste testing Hershey's new Extra Dark chocolate line (my favorite is the ones with blueberries, cranberries and almonds) and Hershey has also introduced an artisan line of chocolates called Cacao Reserve.

So the next time you are in the grocery store or Walgreens ect. see what they have new in the Hershey family line of products.

The Look on His Face

While we receive numerous compliments weekly, it’s not often that we receive one expressing this much enthusiasm!  We all really enjoyed Yvonne’s fantastic comments and hope you will, too:

I received my box of candy bars today at work, and when I opened the box all I could do was just sit there speechlessly in awe.  I had no idea they would look THIS SPECTACULAR.  I can't remember the last time I ordered ANYTHING off of the internet and was more satisfied than today!!!  Thanks to your company's magnificent workmanship, you helped me put the icing on the cake to wish my son (who is stationed in Texas) a Happy Birthday.  I only wish I could be there with him to see his face when he opens the box.  As I have another son who is stationed in Alabama and whose birthday is in late June, need I say you'll definitely be receiving another order from me in the very near future.  Again, thank you sooooooo much for helping me bring in my son's 19th birthday.  Also, thank you for returning the picture and including the re-useable ice pack in the shipment as I will need it when I reship them to Texas.

Sincerely,
Y Hewitt

We Want To Make It Easy

Selecting a processing time and shipping method has never been easier!
We recently made modifications in the Checkout process to our online Processing and Shipping page allowing you to select both, your desired processing time and shipping method.
Our standard 3 business day processing can be selected or maybe you need the order fast so you can choose Rush processing for a $25 fee.  This means we will process your order within 24 hours Monday – Friday, allowing your order to ship within 1 day from the time you place it.  Now that’s fast for a personalized product!
Once you’ve selected your processing time, you pick a shipping method.  Shipping options and corresponding pricing are shown and we’ve added approximate time in transit to help you make the right selection based upon when you need your favors to arrive.

Work and Play

It has been far too long since my last post, but I promise you it is not because of lack of effort.. we have just been very busy at Carson.  April was a record month for orders booked and shipped and May has come in like a lion.  Everyone here has been working a lot of overtime, so I have tried to find ways to give everyone a well needed break with a little recreation.
Last week we rented a 12 person suite at Great American Ballpark for 3 home games and offered it to our team  members and their families to enjoy a night out.  Of course the Cincinnati Reds are struggling, but that did not keep the Carson gang from enjoying a great night at Great American !

It is very important to Sharon and I that the people who work with us at Carson not just feel appreciated, but really know that they are appreciated.  We strive to create an environment where they can have a sense of community.  We work hard, but we also want to have opportunities to do things together that are not work related and really are just fun.
This past week we also had a contest where we put up baby photos of our team members and let everyone try their best to guess who was who... I have to tell you it was not easy but we all had a great time guessing and talking about the pictures.
Today we are grilling out for the gang at lunch because it is a beautiful day here and we want to spend just a little time outside as we wind down from a long week.

Go Red Luncheon a Success!

On Friday, May 4, Sharon, Michelle and Kim attended the 2nd Annual Go Red for Women Empowerment Luncheon. Carson donated 5oz Special Dark chocolate bars wrapped with a Go Red for Women wrapper.  Sharon, Michelle and Kim worked from 9 to 2 selling the chocolate bars.  In total, we sold 345 bars, raising over  $1700 for the Cincinnati Go Red chapter!  Inside 18 of the bars, were golden tickets awarding the lucky holder a prize from other company donations.

Cheryl Ladd was the keynote speaker and an autographed our Go Red bar which we now proudly display in our office.

Shipping to the Triangle

The Bermuda Triangle has laid claim on many things. While traveling through this region, which is located between the points of Miami, Florida, San Juan, Puerto Rico and the island of Bermuda, ships, airplanes and human lives have disappeared without a trace. Many theories exist claiming to know why so many accidents and disappearances happen in this part of the world. Hurricanes, compass variations, outbursts of methane gas, UFO's, time warps, and freak waves have all been blamed as possible causes.
Whatever the problems within the Bermuda Triangle, it wasn't strong enough to stop a package that left our building on April 4, 2007. A customer in Pembroke, Bermuda ordered 40 of our Card Shark birthday announcements for a 40th birthday celebration. After making the dangerous journey through the Bermuda Triangle, the package enjoyed all of what Pembroke, Bermuda has to offer.
Pembroke is named after English aristocrat William Herbert, the 3rd Earl of Pembroke. The parish of Pembroke is home to Bermuda's capital city, Hamilton. It is also home to golf courses, scenic ocean views, beaches, and many parks.

My Spanish World

My name is Carola, I am from Costa Rica. I am the Bilingual Customer Service Representative of Carson. Our demand for wrapper designs in Spanish is growing every day and it has become very satisfying for me to know that I am able to provide our product in my native language. It is also pleasing to know that our chocolates will make sweet the taste as well as the heart of someone… somewhere else in the world. An example of this would be an order that I recently placed for a woman by the name of Mrs. Martín. She was traveling to South America to attend the christening and birthday party of her nephews. She ordered several designs in Spanish and was able to share them with her family overseas. I really enjoy the possibility of assisting people to create a personalized item, especially helping those who share my same culture and language of origin. It is a sweet blessing to know that it is now possible for them to enjoy our chocolates “en español!”

Let’s Get the Blog Started!

I am a designer and they call me Jeff.  What you see before you is one of my “creations.”  I use the term loosely because the blog has evolved by itself going where it wanted defining itself throughout the process.  I can see it evolving in different directions but it needs your help.

As the quote goes “it takes a village to raise a child.”  This blog is in its infancy and you can help it.  Leave comments and tell me how you would like the blog to grow and become better.  A pre-thank you for any ideas you share.
